Stay at home, Watch at home #4

    Dear all

I hope you are doing okay and finding peace while sheltering in place.

Today's short clip is by friend of Treeleaf and Everyday Zen founder and teacher, Zoketsu Norman Fischer.

Norman Fischer - Expanding Your Life - Awakening Joy"This life that we think we're living is a failure of the imagination. It's too small for us. It's not wh...

Wonderful video, being mindful of my compassion is always something that I must actively work towards. My life before did not embody compassion and sometimes it's difficult to overcome that, and videos like this really keep things in perspective. It also reminds me of a great quote:

“When we come into contact with the other person, our thoughts and actions should express our mind of compassion, even if that person says and does things that are not easy to accept. We practice in this way until we see clearly that our love is not contingent upon the other person being lovable.”

          -Thich Nhat Hanh

This is a good quote for me to keep in mind, especially in these times when it feels like so many people are in intense competition and at odds with one another. It's up to us to embody that compassion, not to just love those that are easy to love. I very much appreciate the video!
