I've heard good things about a mob called Treeleaf. Not sure how close they are to Tokyo but they're just up the road from me in rural Queensland, Australia, just around the corner from Saskatchewan in Canada and pretty much on the doorstep of Arizona in the US and the Orkney Isles off the coast of Scotland, UK.
I am strongly considering a trip to Japan later this year/early next year. The main 'agenda' would be surrounding Zen and Buddhism. This will, of course involve a visit to Tree Leaf and Jundo - if I am welcome to crash the party - and, ideally, I would like to spend some time at a temple and sit sesshin (similar to Kyonin).
Is there any temples/retreats that would take me? It's one of those things I should look into in advance for scheduling, budget, etc.
I am very grateful to be relatively close to Japan from Vietnam!
Antaiji, where Kyonin stayed, does not accept short term visitors, and did us a big favor in welcoming Kyonin, There are actually very few places in Japan for foreigners to have such an experience. So, l would contact these folks and see ...

See you here Treeleaf Zendo, I’ve never been to a real Zendo but this is excellent. So, drop on bye just see Jundo, our teacher thank you!!!

Sam, I found a list of Tokyo area places, a little more recent ...
Kyoto is famous for zazen (Zen meditation) but there are also plenty of temples in Tokyo where you can experience it. There are lots of places where beginners and those with experience alike can be taught, so how about trying it?
