I've only recently come across this on YouTube. I quite like the live techno version.

Music has a strong effect on me, and this one is powerful in a good way. I enjoy listening to monks chanting, and their chanting with their music had a very calming, peaceful effect on me. Great timing for this.

Thank you for sharing and for the links. I'm adding this to my practice.

I echo all above. Kanho Yakushij produces lovely pieces of music.

                  Thank you.

Kanho's one playlist is variations of the Heart Sutra. I've been listening to this playlist while cleaning and doing various tasks around the house. Yes, even while sick.

Knowing that Treeleaf recites the Heart Sutra, it occurred to me that I could try following along with Kanho's recordings, privately, using Treeleaf's Chant Book.

So I tried .... this morning. My Japanese is terrible, but I never tried it before. I really enjoyed it, however. I noticed they sometimes recite three times seamlessly.

I just like the sound, rhythm, and feel of the chanting. It's very soothing to me. I whispered, I'm not that brave.

By the time I decided to stop, I had chanted for just over 30 minutes. In Japanese. I surprised myself. I'm not bragging. I'm just surprised that I did this. I will probably do this again.

I hope this forum never becomes like social media.

It has been well-documented that Facebook and similar were designed to be addictive and divisive -- triggers of dopamine and similar, chasing likes and follows.

It is quiet here. We can read and sit. Or gassho and be silent, or ask questions and discuss.

                              Simple.
