    Chinese writing

    Hi,

I'm curious, what do the Chinese characters on the Treeleaf page mean?

    Thanks,
    Lora

Yeah, now that you mention it, I've been wondering that, too.

          Hi,

That is Nishijima Roshi's writing ... Konoha Zendo (Treeleaf Zendo).

Those characters will also soon be carved into a wood panel over the door of our small sitting hall at Treeleaf Tsukuba.

          Gassho, Jundo

PS- Chinese/Japanese characters are just one of the cultural "decorations" of Zen we were talking about on another thread ... although the practice of just writing them is quite great.

I think many of you have seen this video of Nishijima Roshi engaged in his writing ... but please have a look if not ...

              Hi,

Watched the video. Images of penmanship, tea, Master at work. Very peaceful.

              Thanks.
