Wish we could at least keep the manji for maps here in Japan. It's an actual Japanese kanji.卍 It means ten thousand and its on the
10,000 yen bill as the shortened version 万. It also means all like in the ekou 万邦. Banning someones alphabet character and trying to get them to stop using it because someone misappropriated it is kind of silly imo.
I think its silly to change for foreigners when its been well known as a symbol of Buddhism for more than a thousand years in Japan.
Go to any old temple or graveyard and you'll see it all over.
