this phrase has been stuck in my head the past few days...i read it in an article in Buddhadharma about the zen of knitting...don't know as in open and receptive and nonjudgemental, not ignorant...very zen, if i perceive correctly...does anybody know the origins of the phrase?
i can think of the famous (and likely apocryphal) story of bodhidarma's answer to emporer wu's question "who stands before me"
anyway i think ill practice don't know mind a little each day, to remind myself...
if it's kosher to quote a non buddhist source, here's a lyric from modest mouse that also strikes me as zen-like
"i'm gonna slap that look off your face like life don't hold you anymore mystery"
