Hello all,

The fire is still very large and mostly out of control. Fortunately it is headed into less populated areas.
We have decided to load up everyone and spend some time with my parents about 5 hours north of us in Oregon. Cal Fire (the California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection) has posted a map of destroyed and damaged structures and it looks as if our house is still standing. Some homes as close as two blocks from ours have been completely destroyed. We don’t know when we will be allowed back into the neighborhood so have decided a break from all the smoke would be a good thing. All in all, we’re doing pretty well, much better than a lot of people. It has been very humbling to see all of the people that have offered to help or just reached out to make sure that we are okay. It’s now just a matter of waiting.
