    Compost in the Dark

    Hello friends,

I had a moment last night while carrying compost through the back yard in the dark. I made a little video to try to talk about it.

By flashlight, starlight, or sunlight, I’m not sure we ever really see, but we care for life as best we can anyway.

    One Bright Pearl. [emoji4]

    Deep bows,
    Sekishi #sat

        Wonderful Sekishi!

Our invisible friends are always there for us and feeding them is a perfect act of synergy

          My only questions ...

Why do you need a flashlight "to see the whole picture?" Why can't you "see the whole picture" in every drop of rain, leaf, wall and stinky bit of compost? What makes you think that the world is "bigger?"

Why do you say that in the "absolute dimension there is no wind or rain ... or compost"? Who says there is, who says there isn't?

Toss those ideas on the Buddha Compost Heap!

Know the old joke? If you have only 3 apples (let's call em Buddha Dharma Sangha), but need to feed all the sentient beings, what do you do? MAKE APPLE SAUCE!

          Gassho, J

It is my experience that it is only through these limited bodies (with their one-sided Views) that the absolute manifests.

With the flashlight, starlight, or sunlight, we will never “see the whole picture”.

In Zazen we allow the whole phenomenal world to rest. This the eye cannot see itself, but is nevertheless part of the whole. No need to see!

At least that is the experience I had last night. Take it with a grain of salt. [emoji4][emoji120]

Hope you are feeling better dear teacher!

            Gassho,

Thank you Sekishi, thank you Jundo!

Yes to all of the above.

                The Dharma is inconceivable.

                And I do love applesauce.
