          Jundo Roshi,

We were unable to watch the ceremony because of lack of data minutes. In two days, I will have that privilege to witness this beautiful celebration. Many deep bows, Jundo Roshi. Safe journey to you and Leon back to Japan. You are in our hearts.

Thank you all. It was very moving. Very lovely people in their Sangha. I'm just Jundo.

Tonight, I am in Lubbock Texas at Jishin's house, where we had to go because of the terrible Hurricane. I was unable to visit Lorax in Marfa and Meishin in Austin as planned. Tomorrow, we drive directly to Dallas, where Leon and I will spend a day before heading home.

Ansan, sorry for using up all your data!

            Gassho, Jundo

                Just Jundo,

I would have given up all my data to have had the privilege of your visit. Besides, I, myself, used much of that data to sit with you and the Sangha. Data out in here in Boonyville is skimpy at best. But at least, I have a lifeline to you & TreeLeaf for which I am grateful. Many many many (more than) many deep bows for your kindness.

Congratulations Jundo Roshi! I missed the ceremony in real time but will catch up in displaced time.

Thank you again, everyone, for the kind words.

"Roshi" is Chinese-Japanese Zen lingo for "old Teacher." 老師.

As to "Teacher", I suppose that is true, but rather care for another traditional Buddhist term: "Friend Along the Way" or "Good Wise Friend" (Zenchishiki, 善知識, Sanskrit kalyanamitra). A a friend and guide along the Path with some helpful pointers and encouragement and a bit of experience to pass on.

And "Old" is just the truth as the years pass.

Wise Old Teacher, perhaps Jundo Roshi ? Certainly that in my experience over the last year here at Treeleaf but maybe not so old. Been catching up with New Mex Zazenkai but will now watch this on demand and sit with you beyond place and time.

Deep bows to you and to Daiho Roshi for bestowing this "title" on you. Truly deserved IMHO
