    Hi Paul,
There is a Treeleaf group on the Insight Timer app which I think quite a few of us are on. You can get a feeling of sitting with other people and post after you sit as well as sending little 'thanks for meditating with me' messages. I find it really supportive and there is a lovely sense of Sangha. I do find it a bit easier to feel connected there than I do here sometimes. Not quite sure why. Maybe cos I'm quite shy. Also I think it takes a bit of time to settle in. Definitely messaging people occasionally is a nice way of getting to know a few people.

      Hi Lucy!

Yes, I'm very fond of the insight app. It does make a huge difference in my practice and makes me feel better connected. I'll watch for you on there and maybe we can sit together.

      Gassho,

      Paul

        Hi Paul!
I just started today and was trying to find out how everything works...this thread not only gave some good info, it showed me that this community is very kind and helpful. I'm looking forward to joining a group as soon as I get over this flu bug!
        Hope to see you around!

I love Insight Timer. For those who don't know, there are 408 members in the Treeleaf Zendo group now! Someone from Treeleaf is almost always sitting, anytime you log on. There are about, maybe, 25 - 30 people who regularly post to say "I sat today." I like the interaction there because, while it's brief, it's a little more informal, and a little more personal. It's ok to talk about the weather or what your cat did that was cute, or your lousy headache, or how you didn't want to sit but then were glad you did. Mostly it's just people noting that they sat, which is amazingly motivating.

              Hi Dan, welcome to Treeleaf

                Hello Byokan...and thank you!!
I'm basically new to all of this (except for some basic zazen from my Karate days) once I figure out the technical part I'll be joining in asap.

When folks like Dan comment on a thread, like "BuddhaBasics" posts, for example... it pops them up again and the rest of us get a mini-refresher lesson! For those new members browsing the forum, don't hesitate to add your own post to something you find helpful or interesting. Sometimes we end up renewing a helpful thread discussion that is many years old that way. It's One of the coolest things about Treeleaf, IMHO.

Yes! I was just thinking I haven't seen as many old threads pop up as I used to.
