    Sesshin soon

Hi all, Friday I will be attending Chapel Hill Zen Centre's May sesshin in North Carolina. It's a 7 day Sesshin but I can only attend for 3 days because of work. Anyhow, wish me luck, I know I don't jump into conversations much here but want you to know I still try to keep up with things here at Treeleaf.
Thank you all for your practice.
    Gassho.
    Sat today.

It all begins when we say, “I”. Everything that follows is illusion.

Have a great time Jakudo. I sat last years Rohatsu sesshin there. Josho sensei is a wonderful master and the sangha there is very supportive. Enjoy

Wow, you will be simi-close to where I live

I have seen they have retreats there but don't think I am on the level yet to do that.

Enjoy, Jakudo! Three days is still a digging-deep experience in my book! Thank you for your practice.

I certainly will Jundo, I have been sitting with Kuden Paul Boyle, who is a student of Josho's. He now lives in London Ontario which is about an hour away from me.

                  Have a wonderful time, Jakudo!
Wish I could go 7-day sesshining one day. Here the local Soto Zen Sangha has been hosting
only 3-day retreats so far. But they are working on this they say.

I thought the name looked familiar. Kuden leads the Forest City Zen Group here in town. I've never attended but keep meaning to check it out.

                        Enjoy your sesshin

Just a short note on my experience with Sesshin. First the Sangha at Chapel Hill Zen Center are wonderful and helped this Sesshin first timer in more ways than I can imagine . I have been re reading Zen mind, Beginners Mind and Suzuki Roshi's advise to "follow the schedule " is the best advise I could have hoped for. I simply gave myself to the experience, expecting nothing and all went well. Yesterday, as I was driving home from the airport, tears started to stream down my face. I was overwhelmed with gratitude for all the dharma teachers I've had over the years and to all who came before, marking this path for me.
