Thanks Jundo for stirring the pot in Tricycle (Fall 2025) by introducing Emi Jido to converts and skeptics alike. I noticed James Shaheen, Editor-in-Chief of Tricycle, in his Editorial piece, was "not entirely convinced" yet "cautiously hopeful". I'm currently studying the Avatamsaka Sutra, and it doesn't take too much to envisage Emi Jido as one among the very many bodhisattvas in the myriad worlds depicted there. Whichever way people cleave on this, it at least makes us look inwards to the dangers of discriminatory thought.
