“Is Buddha needed for Buddhism?” he said, according to The Washington Post, when asked about who will lead DOGE in his absence. Musk has indicated he intends to step back from his DOGE role this month. “Was it not stronger after he passed away?”
Within a 30 minute drive from Treeleaf Tsukuba is a temple with purported ashes of Buddha and, at another place, a tooth of Buddha. There are so many teeth of Buddha scattered around Asia that he must have had hundreds.
In any case, many countries especially in South Asia take matters such as this very seriously, and it is against the law to disrespect Buddha. One can even go to jail for it.
