Dear friends, this is a reminder to you all that our spring retreat is tomorrow, and you are all invited and welcome. The information about it is in the top post of this thread and the full schedule is up on our Practice Calendar. This also replaces both our monthly zazenkai today and our weekly one on Sunday.
I hope you decide to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, whether it be for the full retreat or for parts of it. Kotei and Kokuu will offer Dharma talks on master Keizan, we will have a community discussion afterwards and we will have our special morning services, to honor the Buddha's birthday and master Keizan.
I hope to see many of you tomorrow!

              Everyone,
              I am very sorry.
I got confused as the times in the published programme appear to be 1 hour later than the actual times. So when I joined to make my contribution I was an hour late.

And unable to hear you all. I was unable to fix the sound issue.

No worries, Seiko. We thought that was what must have happened. My original schedule was in UK time, and the second one is central European time.

                My apologies for the confusion.

Thank you, dear friends on the Euro / Asian time zones that made the effort to show up for today's retreat! I am grateful you all made this possible so far.

                      HI Folks,

I posted in Slack but we are dealing with really bad storms here. My power is bouncing in and out. The storms are supposed to clear out in a couple of hours so I should be good for my Ino work.

Thank you Kotei, Bion, and Kokuu for a wonderful Spring Retreat.

Kotei - I got a lot from your talk on Master Soji Keizan, and have a follow-up question. The post-talk discussion centred around how Keizan embraced the local customs and cultures of the Japan of his day - as the Mother to Dogen zenji's Father figure of Soto. It seems a dumb question (and possibly heretical), given our heavily Japanese oriented lineage and the "Eastern" home of our tradition, but in the spirit of Keizan, I've long wondered why Treeleaf is not fully embracing of local customs and cultures outside of the "East". For instance, half of the liturgy is still chanted in Japanese. Or is Japanese viewed as the lingua franca equivalent of Latin for the Roman Catholic church?
