Lovely, and a little sad news too about our nest of barn swallows in the Zendo ...

The beautiful news is that (according to my daughter, who I asked to look in each day while I was in Taiwan), at least two little swallows were born, the parents (and a third "uncle" bird) tended them for some days, bringing food, and they suddenly flew off ...

... but, alas, the nest itself did not survive, and is now crashed to the Zendo floor ... apparently a family of five was a bit too much. My daughter says that she is sure that she saw the little birds flying away, and there is no sign of them but empty eggshells. The old nest had been there since we opened our Treeleaf Zendo in Tsukuba, a dozen or so years ago ...
        .

May the birds be at peace in their now flying lives.
