FEELING LOST AROUND THE COMMUNITY? Contact our "SANGHA BUDDHIES"

Dear All, and especially New Members,

Are you feeling a little lost wandering the halls of our Forum? Hard to find things? Wondering about some of our activities and how to participate?

Please feel free to contact one or more of the "Sangha Buddhies" volunteers below and they can help. They are older members who are all nice folks, and would like to show you around, help you find things around here, answer basic questions. Always nice to make a new friend or two.

Just drop them a PM any time (links provided):

I am going to ask each of our volunteers to write a few sentences about themself, which I will post.

    Onshō Onsho

Hello! Im Onshō (they/them). I am a queer, non-binary small town Ontario Canadian. I live in a little old farmhouse with a little dog, a cuddly cat, and my loving partner Tristan. I love exploring the world though traditional cuisine, tending to my veggie garden, going on intimidating hikes and studying Buddhism in front of the fire. Treeleaf has been a incredible addition to my life, everyone is so kind and nurturing. It takes a bit of time to find your way around the Sangha. I am more than happy to help show you around, introduce you, and get you started in the sitting rooms if you would like a little support. You can ask me anything and I’ll see you around the zendo
    Tairin Tairin

"Welcome to TreeLeaf. I am Tairin.
I live in south western Ontario Canada. I have been a member here at TreeLeaf since 2016. I undertook Jukai in 2018. I joined TreeLeaf after a few years of attempting to practice Zen on my own. I was a member of a local brick and mortar sangha prior but work and travel prevented me from being able to attend that sangha regularly. I am now retired after a long career in IT.
I am married to a beautiful woman and we have one adult son. I am an active person interested in physical fitness. I am a musician. I am a gardener. I volunteer my time to a few different organizations.
I sit Zazen daily with my wife. I attend the weekly Zazenkai via the recordings each week."
    Chikyo Chikyou

“Hi! I’m Chikyō (they/them). I am aroace and genderfluid. I live in Reading, PA, USA and I work in manufacturing engineering (I program and troubleshoot CNC metal cutting machines in the medical device sector). For fun I enjoy rock climbing and art. I’m also an avid Star Trek fan. I’ve been a member of Treeleaf since 2021 and took Jukai in 2024. I’ve found a fantastic and welcoming community here at Treeleaf and I’d be happy to show you around.”
    Junsho Junsho

"Hi! I’m Junshō, a friendly Brazilian guy currently living in the Czech Republic. I’m also a dedicated husband and dad to an energetic little boy.
During the day, I work in IT, but I also enjoy getting my hands dirty as a Buddhist sculptor and hobby artist. My interests are quite diverse—I’m a bit of a hobby barista, I practice judo and iaidō, and I play the Brazilian mandolin in my free time. When I'm not indulging in those activities, you can find me immersed in flight simulators or video games.
However, my true commitment lies in the teachings of the Buddha, supporting the community, and being present for my family. I’m always here if you need someone to chat with, have questions about the forum, or want to clear up some doubts about Zen practices. You’re always welcome to reach out — I’d be happy to walk this path and learn with you. Gassho!"
    Taiji Taiji

"Hello! Taiji (she/they) here. I’m from Texas, and I live in the Austin area with my spouse and our cat, a very orange gentleman whom you might see occasionally on Zoom. Interests of mine outside of Buddhism include reading (especially fantasy and history), gaming, music (especially metal), and a whole lot more. I’m incredibly grateful for the community that I’ve found here with Treeleaf, and I’m happy to help others get acquainted just as folks here have helped me. Feel free to reach out!"
    Gassho to All, J
