Buddha Basics Podcast 03 - No Self, No Problem

Our Zen of Everything Podcast continues it reverently irreverent look at the basic history and teachings of Buddhism and Zen, for both newcomers and fellow 'old Zen fools.'

    This week:

Buddha Basics Podcast 03 - No Self, No Problem
    https://www.zen-of-everything.com/81

Buddhism often talks about how there is no self, but there is a self; if not, we couldn't take selfies. But at the same time there's no self. No problem.

And though our Zen way is beyond all likes and dislikes ... if you like the darn thing, please leave a positive ratings on iTunes! It really helps support the effort.

For more about the podcast, where to send your serious or silly questions ...

Dear All, For those of you who can't get enough Jundo, and would love to have me 24/7 in their cars, bedrooms and ears ... ... who want to hear me push some Buddhist boundaries, make some people smile and others come running with burning torches, all while hopefully speaking some sense ... ... I am pleased to announce that

You can also sign up by RSS, or hear it many places such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts (follow the links above).

This whole podcast really reminds me of something I heard from the neuroscientist Sara Lazar. The self is definitely an illusion generated by the brain, it's a product from evolution. But it's quite a useful one. Evolution doesn't really care if this way of being makes us suffer or not. But I am glad that zen exists so that we can see the wholeness that is already there and is beyond this small self.
