'The ZEN of EVERYTHING! Podcast' ... Episode 58 ... In the Moment

Oh, I am late to post this. Sorry, my mistake.

Episode 58 ... In the Moment

Jundo and Kirk discuss living in the moment, and how, at times, you can be too much in the moment.

Kirk's reading of the Ryokan poem:

where did my life come from?
        Where will it go?
reminds me very much of another poem:

Where did you come from, where did you go?
Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe?
        -----

But in all seriousness, does anyone know what poem or collection that was from? I can't seem to find it, and I do love reading a good Ryokan.

It's from the book titled Great Fool, which has some biographical essays, the poems, some letters, and other texts.
