Here's a nice topic for a change of pace ...

    Episode 40 ... Change

I absolutely love these podcasts! Since you mentioned Dogen sounding a bit hippy, I came across some reaserch into the role of ethnogenic plants in early Buddhism.

The author Mike Crowley himself is a Lama in Tibetan tradition.

I'm not sure how valid this reaserch is, but it offers an interesting perspective on our relationship with nature.

That is interesting - thank you, Ania!

The full article is here although I have yet to read it: https://www.erowid.org/references/re...owDoc1&ID=7185

Hopefully it is unnecessary to say that the use of entheogens/hallucinogens is against the precepts, even if it is understandable that early adepts might have adopted and explored this path from mystics in other traditions.
