    'The ZEN of EVERYTHING! Podcast' ... Episodes 9 & 10 ....

Two this week ... (because forgot to post while off to Kyoto with Kyonin ) ...

    Episode 9: Favorites

Jundo and Kirk talk discuss favorites. What is the best ice cream flavor? What is the best fruit? Do favorites matter? Do appearances matter?

    One of my favorite episodes!

Then, what's so very wrong with Japanese Buddhism, and wrong with Western Buddhism ... and what is so very, very right about both?

Episode 10: Zen in the West and Zen in Japan

Jundo and Kirk discuss differences between the way zen is practiced in the west compared to Japan.

For more about the podcast, where to send your serious or silly questions ...

Dear All, For those of you who can't get enough Jundo, and would love to have me 24/7 in their cars, bedrooms and ears ... ... who want to hear me push some Buddhist boundaries, make some people smile and others come running with burning torches, all while hopefully speaking some sense ... ... I am pleased to announce that

Thank you, Jundo. I really enjoyed these.

It was particularly interesting to hear about the Harada-Yasutani school as related to The Three Pillars of Zen. Like Kirk, I had always assumed it was a pretty accurate portrayal of Rinzai Zen in general rather than a specific approach of minor lineage.

Really enjoyed the episode about Zen in Japan. Consider my illusions swept away.
