    [ARTS: Zen 'Non-Calligraphy'] One-Line Buddha

Let's attempt a one-line drawing of a Buddha. By one line, I mean that the whole image is just one line from start to finish, so when you are lifting your brush, or pen, off of the paper, it's done.

This can be done very slowly and deliberately, or as quickly as a breath; that is up to you.

    Here is mine:

This one was done very quickly and spontaneously while I was attending a meeting and keeping notes. The way it turned out made me think it might be a good first prompt, because when I did it, I wasn't thinking about doing it, I just put my pen to the paper and "allowed" the Buddha drawing to happen. I wasn't pre-judging it because it was a doodle. Please bring that mindset to this, if you can.

I don't mean that it was a spontaneous "appearance" of a Buddha under my pen, either. I had decided to draw a Buddha, but what I mean by "allowing" it to appear is that because I was not attached to the outcome, whether it looked good or bad, or like a Buddha or just a scribble, I did it anyway, and then I let it go.

Please, if you like, show your one-line Buddha's in this thread. You can use any mediums you like. Just breathe and allow it to happen when the right moment comes along.

This is my one-shot effort. Sorry for bleed-through type, I used the back of a scrap paper.

I love that horizontal line work... never even thought of doing it that way!

I think the next panel in that series would be just a blank page... or no page

I've had this idea bumping around my head for weeks now. Finally put pen to paper. Apologies for stretching the rules of the assignment a good bit.

I think you stretched the "rules" less than I did. My example is technically not one-line-- I couldn't find a break in yours at all. I really like how you approached the idea!

As a side note: there are prompts, but not really any rules. If a prompt prompts you to do something completely different, then it is still very welcome here. I love it when an idea gives me yet another idea instead!
