Dear all
My friend, the haiku poet Jan Benson died earlier this week. I heard from her family last night although feared for the worst when her social media accounts were all closed down after the weekend.
Anyway, here are some of her poems, and one of mine I wrote for her earlier this year.
migrant moon...
walking from weeds
into weeds
remeasuring bigotry Christchurch mosque
the pond
holds a half moon
theology of bones
tidal flats
the quarter-tones
of a sandpiper
crescent moon and her silk blouse a zephyr swells
the thrum
of stars in my bones
hadron collider
Mine:
the resilience
of violets
grandmother moon
Gassho
Kokuu
