The Parana river, in Rosario, Argentina. We visited again for the holidays for the first time since covid, and I found a little time to sit alone and simply watch the river flow, as I used to do when I was in college

So, are there Piranhas in the Parana River? In short, yes there are Piranha in the Parana river. The river is the second largest in Latin America and has good conditions for Piranha breeding. Fishbase lists 3 species predominantly using the river and periodically there are attacks which further provide proof. The most famous Piranha to inhabit the river is the Speckled Piranha.

It took me a few days to understand the joke, because for me, it's the "Río Paraná", with an accent in the last "a", so I thought maybe you were interested in piranhas...

The Paraná's piranhas are commonly called "palometas", they are not as dangerous as movie piranhas but can still bite people, especially in very hot days, so it's usually safe to be in the river, though I do prefer to just sit by the side and watch.

Now both pronunciations coexist in my head, and it makes me chuckle when I think of the "Paranha" river

Zen Jay, your newer posts ars stunning, and well thought out, Perhaps something like Photoshop Elements could help the top two or three. I'm just saying, many of my best photos, well, they could not be posted because of contrast, or saturation or some other quality that could be corrected. There are many inexpensive photoassist progrograms, with great editing tools, and many are free, or inexpensive. Ask some of you friends what they use, and you may find fine programs in Micriosoft Srore. One that I use is called "Paint.net," and you could pay just a few dollars for an excellent program, and there are others with more controls, easy to use, and books to explain these controls for $20 or more; for your photos, and photo storage, just look around.

A more expensive program you may find useful with one payment--is Photoshop elements, from $60 tp $100 dollars depending on the year it is issued, Then Photoshop, very expensive because you haave to rent it. Other programs in the middle range of price can be rented. There is 1000 gig of storage with Adobe which can be paid for on a monthly installments, which also includes some of the best programs with tuition paid classes, so take a look around; these include photo editing tools. These are only suggestions. You have some very fine photos. I especially enjoyed the "Deer" photo, and" sunsets." Keep shoottong because it looks like you have a great gift. I am no authority, but I have taken a fairly expensive course with New York institute of Photyography.

Thank you Tai Shi! I will definitely check those out! I tend to just go with whatever the natural photo was, but I would be curious to see what a photo program could do too! I’d love to take out some of the glare and lens flares that happen when I shoot sunsets or sunrises. (I try to hide them in the sun, or crop the photo after) Thank you for the suggestions! Your photos are amazing! Don’t sell yourself short there, you have quite an eye and talent! (Love reading your poems too!)
