Hey folks,
Was out for a walk today when the rain stopped and came across this ... a tree that had tags hanging all over it. The tags had little messages of gratitude on them, was a wonderful surprise. =)

Truth is without foundation;
the root of illusion is empty.
In abandoning having and not having,
the non-empty becomes empty.

Coffee at Matsumoto Joe's in Bar Harbor (only scoundrels and itinerant Zen priests hang out there this time of year) with my son - our Yakuza faces. He is also my student in Uechi ryu and has asked to "apprentice" in zen with me. I hope one day he will be my lineage holder in at least one of these. It is always the hope of the teacher that their students surpass them. My son is already teaching me. I am honored to practice (and joke around) with him.
Deep bows

Sven,
Here you go - Hunters Head, Acadia National Park. You have a beautiful home town. PS - the colors are exactly as my iPhone camera captured them. No enhancements or filters. My son and I sat on the ledge and wondered what was on the other side of this wonderful blue expanse. He is a student at COA.
Deep bows
