    [ARTS] Shodo

Not sure if this belongs here but how do I start to learn how to draw(?) kanji using brushes not pens?
It is easy enough to get hold of the paper, brushes and ink, but as there are no artists or classes here where I live
it looks like a primer book.
    But which one?

    Hi Michael

I might have told you previously that my friend Shōgen from Glasgow Zen Centre offers shodō classes: https://drawingandpaintingstudio.com...brush-feb-2023

I have also benefitted from the You Tube videos and primer e-books of Gohitsu Studio: https://www.youtube.com/@Gohitsushodostudio

        Thank you for the replies.

I feel it may better to use a book to start to maintain some calmness and use the YT for reference to start.

Found a book on ebay to start me off and called into the local art shop and found
ink paper brushes all in stock. Brushes are a bit spendy but we will see.

Perfectly adequate and inexpensive brushes suitable for a beginner can be found online, often "made in China" which is just fine ...

Sorry to link to Mr. Bezos.
