Thanks for your kind words Nengei & Seikan [emoji4]
I just entered the world of watercolor. To start without pretentiousness, I bought a simple 24 colours Winsor and Newton beginner's set and some inexpensive brushes and paper on amazon (in case I would drop after a couple of paintings). But I admit I am very fashinated by the world of ink wash painting techniques and sumi e. Maybe one day I'll give it a try [emoji23]
    Have a nice weekend!!

I am blowing the dust off and resurrecting the paint and drawing department. I have not been very attentive, but it is because I have been painting and teaching, having made the move to full-time professional art about 6 months ago.

Anyway, I will post more, and I encourage you to do the same!

Here is a recent little study I did that I believe you will enjoy. The painting is oils on board-mounted canvas, 9x12 inches. I do not know the identity of the person in the figure, but when I saw it I had to have it. It is Japanese, and modern. The vase is also modern and is Chinese. The apple is a locally grown Fuji, I think. The pine cone came from… somewhere… and normally sits on my altar.

There is some really nice work here. I love the Japanese style art. Here are some sketches of mine from around 2018/19. My wife (using soluble pencils), my mother, and some clothes (copy of textbook sketches).

Here is a newly completed portrait.

Sophia, 12x16 inches, painted with oils on mounted Belgian handkerchief linen.

Gassho. Beautiful. I like the way you incorporated the Bokeh and the eyes are perfect.

A very Zen-inspired painting, just finished it. Big world, little sit.
