For Zen students a weed is a treasure. With this attitude, whatever you do, life becomes an art.

      Hi all,

I really enjoyed all these recommendations. I know that I'm late to the party but here are just a few that I thought were fairly Zen / Bhuddist.

(Don't Fear) The Reaper - by Blue Oyster Cult (Ninja Sex Party has an amazing cover too)
Aerials - by System Of A Down
Where Have I Been All My Life - by George Strait (I know this is country with christian themes, but I've always felt the thought of being more awake and present through out life parallels pretty well with Zen)

Bian, would you mind adding a photo to your profile, please? It helps keep things very human around here!

Anything by the band Cloud Cult, especially their most recent albums "The Seeker" and "Metamorphosis". A couple tracks to get you started:

          Or this one:

Vipassana - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (Ryan Lewis Remix)
            Thank You - Alanis Morisette
All Things Must Pass - George Harrison
            Instant Karma - John Lennon
            Bodhisattva Vow - Beastie Boys
Just Let Go - Sturgill Simpson
Where Is My Mind? - The Pixies
Everything is Everything - Lauryn Hill
            Float On - Modest Mouse
Make You Feel That Way - Blackalicious
Do You Realize? - The Flaming Lips
            Satisfied Mind - Jeff Buckley
Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of - U2
            Only - Nine Inch Nails
Good Times - Eric Burdon & The Animals

Not all Rock and Pop, my tastes tend to the eclectic.

I plan to delve into the Spotify list but am hesitant to add to it as I'm not sure my tastes are quite what you're looking for.

In what I can only take as an organic lesson on impermanence, your link has expired. Would you care to post a new one, or perhaps give the playlist a distinctive name?

That one worked. I can only conclude that it was user error on my part before. Thank you.

Of course, every song is a "Buddhist Song" when heard with wisdom and compassion.

                        Hi Jundo,

this was one of the first songs I learned on bass (probably much easier than guitar part), and is a song I like for a meditative practice session, along with Papa Was A Rolling Stone, and I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.

With regard to the original question, Operation Ivy’s Knowledge might belong on such a playlist, with this chorus:
