Hi. May as well get in on this... I play several instruments, with varying degrees of skill as my condition and meds allow. My first love is drums... Started when I was six after hearing "God of Thunder" by Kiss. I tried to explain it to my grandfather... A whole song, that was nothing but drums! He went and put on a record... "Sing Sing Sing" from Benny Goodman Live at Carnegie Hall, with the great Gene Krupa drum solo. Got hooked on two things: playing music, and jazz . Got my first drum set for Christmas that year. I also play sax, clarinet, a couple kinds of flute, guitar, bass, a little mandolin, ukulele and highland bagpipes. Again... To what level of success depends on how my meds are doing on any given day.
For listening pleasure, I am a huge Deadhead, otherwise, old jazz, particularly of the 50s and 60s.

          Just sat a bit ago.
          Gonna sit some more later.

            Hi all,

            Sat and Lah

            In deepest Gassho,

My name is Stephen and I have been playing "meditative" music for several decades. I would like to offer a piece from time to time. I hope you enjoy! This is called "Saturdays in space"
New Age jazz. I play all instruments except drums (programmed). Music inspired by late 1980's ECM, including Pat Metheny. If you like this, please listen to...

Oh, that is lovely. It inspires me.

I recently picked up the guitar ... I have the D, A, G, G7, D, D7, E, Em, Am ... and sometimes my fingers even go the right places!

                            Hi!
                            I'm new in Treeleaf.
I've studied a tiny bit of classical singing and I've sung in a couple of traditional music bands. Now I re-started learning to play the violin and the guitar. With my husband, who is learning to play the guitar and the concertina, we would like, once our skills are better, to make "eco-spiritual-neofolk" (with big quotation marks) music.

My husband, Alessandro, is more of a Taoist.
Basically he goes with the flow (a.k.a the Tao) and I sit and recite verses.
But at the core both philosophies seem pretty similar to me, although I know little of Buddhism and virtually nothing of Taoism.
