The cheeky zen of lost poetry ideas; a haiku

    Sitting in zazen,
Poems come. Just thoughts, don't grasp.
    Standing, I forget.

    Hi Nick

It's more of a senryu (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senry%C5%AB) than a haiku but not bad at all!

You don't have to write in 5-7-5. That refers to Japanese morae (sound units) rather than English syllables which tend to be longer than morae.

I know but I find a strict structure helpful when I write. Thanks for the education, I hadn't heard the term senryu before.
