The 90th of 108 Gates Of Dharma Illumination

    Gate Ninety
Read the following, place it in your heart and sleep on it. Then, tomorrow, live it until evening when you can leave a brief comment on what you may have received during the process.

The diligence pāramitā is a gate of Dharma illumination; for [withit] we completely attain all good dharmas, and we teach and guide lazy living beings.

Diligence pāramitā : the wisdom of enthusiastic perseverance

By “Dharma Gate”, We mean a teaching or practice that can lead to spiritual growth: some kind of positive outcome in terms of our practice. A way to approach the truth.

    Koan:
"Virya paramita is said to have three components. The first component is the development of character. It is also about cultivating the courage and the will to walk the path as far as it goes, for as long as it takes.
For you, this stage might involve correcting bad habits or giving up excuses. You may need to clarify commitment to the path and cultivate shraddha -- trust, confidence, conviction."
    - Barabara O'Brien's Leaning Religion; link here

Diligence pāramitā : the wisdom of enthusiastic perseverance
One of the true benefits of being part of a Sangha is that when our diligence and perseverance flag the Sangha can help lift us up.
