The 34th of 108 Gates Of Dharma Illumination

    Gate Thirty-four
Read the following, place it in your heart and sleep on it. Then, tomorrow, live it until evening when you can leave a brief comment on what you may have received during the process.

Inhibition of self-conceit is a gate of Dharma illumination; for [with it] wisdom is fulfilled.

By “Dharma Gate”, we mean a teaching or practice we can study to gain insights into the deepening our practice. It's a way to integrate our understanding of approaching reality.

    Koan:
"We often wonder who here is really better? But, aren't we all made out of the same lump of clay? Your whole life long you're completely out of your mind because you think it's obvious that there is a 'you' and 'the others.' You put on an act to stand out in a crowd, but in reality there's neither 'you' nor 'the others.' When you die you'll understand. There is nothing in the world we need to rack our briains over once it's clear that our deluded and discriminating thoughts are absolutely useless"
    - To You, Zen Sayings of kodo Sawaki, pg 43

    Most note worthy replies :
    Realizing sameness
    Releasing the self
I walk in the fabric of the universe.
    Wisdom shines brightest
    When the clouds
    Of self disappear

            discriminating thoughts are recursively discriminating
It occurs to me that my attachment to this body is entirely arbitrary. All the evidence is subjective.
