    53/108 Gates of Dharma Illumination

    The Fifty-third Gate

Feeling as an abode of mindfulness is a gate of Dharma illumination; for [with it] we detach from all miscellaneous feelings.

    Feeling:
the general state of consciousness considered independently of particular sensations, thoughts, etc

    Awareness of feelings,
    Where they come from and
    Why they are there,
    Empowers my ability
    To see feelings with objectivity.

    And writing a sentence
As though it were a verse
    Does not
    Make it a poem.

Please excuse any indication that I am trying to teach anything. I am a priest in training and have no qualifications or credentials to teach Zen practice or the Dharma.

      Forget this and that
      Focus on
      Feeling, not the felt

        Spot on my friend!

And regarding your second point, it all depends on who you ask. Your reflection works as verse to me. ;-)
