    51/108 Gates of Dharma Illumination

    The Fifty-first Gate

Realization of nonappearance is a gate of Dharma illumination; for
[with it] we experience the truth of cessation

    Nonappearance:
    otherwise known as nirvana

    Extinguishing self—
    Every day
    A brand new sunrise

As we're almost halfway through the Dharma Gates, I just want to offer deep bows of gratitude to Shokai for providing these teachings as well as to everyone that has shared their reflections/responses over the past few weeks. All of your different perspectives have been wonderful lessons in and of themselves.

    Gassho,
    Seikan

Please excuse any indication that I am trying to teach anything. I am a priest in training and have no qualifications or credentials to teach Zen practice or the Dharma.
