    46/108 Gates of Dharma Illumination

    The Forty-sixth Gate

The view to expiate causes is a gate of Dharma illumination; for [with it] we attain salvation.

    Expiate:
to atone for; make amends or reparation\

All harmful acts, words and thoughts
Ever commmitted by me since of old
On account of beginningless greed, anger and ignorance
Born of my body, mouth and mind
Now I atone for them all.

"No goal" but if I'm less mean to people along the non-way I think I'll be good with that.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as of late is that atonement is not a “one and done” affair. It is more of an ongoing process—evolving, but without end.

            We fall down often
            Then get up
            Again and again

            Gassho,
            Seikan

              I estinguish anger with patience.
Watching how it slowly flickers away.
Those who I've burnt with harsh words
I keep in deep loving - kindness.

                If I can see
                If I can accept
                If I can change
                Moment to moment
                Hour by hour
