    The one Hundred and fourth of 108 Gates Of Dharma Illumination

    The One Hundred and Fourth Gate; Attainment of the state of unrestricted speech

    Attainment of the state of unrestricted speech is a gate of Dharma illumination; for [with it] we cause all living beings to rejoice. (Nishijima/Cross)

    Attaining unhindered understanding is a gate of realizing dharma; it causes all sentient beings to rejoice. (Tanahashi) — See Gate 101

    Gate Gatha:
    May we, together with all buddhas;
    Attain the state of unrestricted speech
    That we may cause all living beings to rejoice.

    Reflection Prompt:

    Having attained the state of unrestricted speech, what is it that causes all living beings to rejoice?

    Capping Verse:
    The right words spoken
    Or withheld
    May free all beings.

        Right speech, dharma talk, is heard and said at once, bringing rejoicing to the patiently enduring.

          I would think that 'all living beings' may be a slight exageration... but one can hope. Seeing clearly allows for speech to be used well as an expedient means, and those who listen thus rejoice from hearing true Dharma.
