    The One Hundredth of 108 Gates Of Dharma Illumination

    The One Hundredth Gate; The wisdom view

    The wisdom view is a gate of Dharma illumination; for [with it] wisdom is realized and fulfilled. (Nishijima/Cross)

    Insight of wisdom is a gate of realizing dharma; it accomplishes and fulfills wisdom. (Tanahashi)

    Gate Gatha:
    May we, together with all buddhas;
    Clarify the Wisdom View
    That wisdom is realized and fulfilled.

    Reflection Prompts:

    Comment on why it is necessary to make a detailed investigation of 'the facts' in order to accomplish the true realization and fulfillment of wisdom itself.

    Capping Verse:
    Looking into the light
    Not the dark
    All things become clear.

    Facts are a way of describing reality. With a knowledge of the true aspects of reality one may discern them from the illusions, delusions, and narratives that distort our presence at the moment and lead to misunderstanding reality. Thus wisdom, the ability to make good judgments and decisions, is self-fulfilled.

      Discerning the root of delusion and suffering in our own mind, wisdom self-actualizes... and what Dainei said!

        Would the Mona Lisa be the same if we took out an eye? How about removing the finale of Beethoven’s ninth symphony… one must have the COMPLETE Dharma in order to appreciate and realize its wisdom…

          What are “facts”? Are they not also a possible source of delusion? We have a tendency to cling to facts as something permanent and undisputed but we see every day that people spout what they believe are “facts” and yet have no basis in the reality. Just like everything else I believe we need to test facts for ourselves and not accept them blindly.
