The Ninth of the 108 Gates Of Dharma Illumination

    Gate Nine
Read the following, place it in your heart and sleep on it. Then, tomorrow, live it until evening when you can leave a brief comment as to insights or revelations you may have received during the process.

Mindfulness of Dharma is a gate of Dharma illumination; for [with it] reflection of [the state of] Dharma is pure.

    The Koan:

"the dharma in front of our eyes"

"Master Enen of Sansho Ji said: When I have a chance to meet people, I meet them, But even if I meet them I do not always teach them.
Master Koke said; When I have a chance to meet people, I do not always meet them. but when I meet them I always teach them."
    -Master Dogen's Shinji Shobogenzo 1-92

A Most note worthy reply was:
Regarding the ubiquitous nature of the Dharma; being so all-pervasive, we need only open our minds to it, and it can't be missed.

    Like the air we breathe
    Truth is found
    Within and without

The Dharma is always encountered but rarely perceived. Both Master Enen and Master Koke are right: to really encounter someone is to share the unspoken Dharna.

The best teaching is by example.

                Always all places,
                Easy to grasp
                But always ungraspable.
