I haven’t posted much the last few months due to travel and work, but at least today’s word is not applicable to me. Karōshi (過労死) Is the word, originating from Japan, for overwork death.
A Japanese monk is suing his temple, claiming he was forced to work non-stop catering to visiting tourists and that the heavy workload gave him depression.
The story, however, makes the point that most of this poor Shingon monk's duties seem to involve catering to tourists, so there is some question if it was actually part of training.
