    Anyone currently practicing Shakyo?

    Hello everyone,
I found this thread a few weeks ago while looking for posts about the Heart Sutra, and decided to start practicing.
Thank you Geika and Jundo for all the instructions you've added here, they are very helpful and inspiring.

My progress is slow, only 1 or 2 lines a day, but what's the rush? I simply enjoy how peaceful it is.

I thought I'd share and see if there's anyone out there who'd like to practice "with" me.

My sincere opinion, based on living in Japan 35 years ... yours are beautiful, truly balanced and elegant Kanji.

That looks lovely, I wanted to draw chinese caligraphy, but the exercise books aren't very interesting; this seems like a good way to practice. Thanks for the inspiration!

That is absolutely beautiful work, Alina!

I have practiced Shakyo previously, with a teacher from Glasgow Zen Group, and would love to get the fude pens and sutra out again.

You have probably seen this short piece on Shakyo from Sotoshu: https://www.sotozen.com/eng/practice/sutra/shakyo.html

Thank you Bion, Jundo, Kaitan and Kokuu for your kind comments and encouragement. I studied Japanese for a year, but I barely remember hiragana and katakana, almost no kanji, so for this practice I am simply doing it as best as I can, I've no idea of the stroke order. This is the template I am using, all merit about it's beauty should go to whoever created it.
