    Ryaku Fusatsu - Saturday, October 28th, 2023

    Hello, dear sangha

Next Saturday, October 28th, on the day of the full moon, we will get together again to be reminded of the Precepts and their meaning, to recommit to them and to atone for past misdeeds, as it has been the custom since the time of Shakyamuni Buddha, within the Sangha. This ceremony in Soto Zen is called Fusatsu.

The history of the monthly Fusatsu ceremony is explained HERE

To find your local time, please check the Treeleaf calendar, which can be found HERE

The Ryaku Fusatsu ceremony will be held in the Meeting Room, which can be found HERE

You can also join our livestream if you do not wish to be on camera or participate at a later time, whenever it is better for you, with the recording, which you will find here:

Please join in for the Treeleaf Ryaku Fusatsu - Precepts Recommitment Ceremony. The history of the ceremony is detailed here https://www.treeleaf.org/forums/...

The ceremony lasts about half an hour, is easy to follow along with, so please download the booklet for it HERE

If you wish to participate, you'll also need a vessel with water and a leaf, or something you can sprinkle yourself with when the moment arrives.
We hope you can join us! All are welcome to attend or participate, having received the Precepts or not. We look forward to seeing you there!

    Hello, everyone.
Bumping this thread to remind everyone that today is our monthly Fusatsu ceremony! Please join in.

As you’ll notice, it is scheduled at the same time as our Fukudenkai ( Robe sewing ) and in the same Zoom room. Of course, Fustasu has priority over all else, so we shall meet again for sewing on Tuesday, as scheduled, or next Saturday.
See you in a bit, for Fusatsu!
