    Ryaku Fusatsu - Friday, May 5th, 2023

Our next monthly Ryaku Fusatsu ceremony will take place Friday, May 5th, 2023.

The history of the monthly Full Moon Ceremony is explained here: https://tinyurl.com/About-Ryaku-Fusatsu

To find your local time, please check the Treeleaf Calendar, which can be found here: https://www.treeleaf.org/now/

The Ryaku Fusatsu ceremony will be held in the Meeting Room, which can be found here: https://www.treeleaf.org/now/go.php?l=meet

You can also join our livestream or participate whenever it is better for you, with the recording, which you can find here:
Please join in for the Treeleaf Ryaku Fusatsu Precepts Recommitment Ceremony. The history of the ceremony is detailed here https://www.treeleaf.org/forums/sh...

The ceremony is easy to follow along with, so please download the booklet for it here: https://tinyurl.com/RF-Ceremony

If you wish to participate, you'll also need a vessel with water and a leaf, or something you can sprinkle yourself with when the moment arrives.

We hope you can join us! All are welcome -- no prior experience required.

Thank you Meian as always for making sure we keep this up!

If I may get up on the soapbox for a moment: There is some friction in the Sangha right now. It happens sometimes I guess - we potatoes banging around in the pot together, wearing off each other's rough edges.

Gathering together, atoning for thoughts, words, and acts that may have been ... less than skillful ... Then recommitting to those vows as best we can "in this body and life": this is important medicine.

Please join us if you can. If you cannot (because it is frankly THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY for some folks), it will be recorded and you can still join us across space and time! With the recording, speak aloud your commitment. The Zen way is a doing, not a thinking.

When one follows the North Star, there will be times when we get lost in a thicket, or have to head due east to get around a lake that is in our way, but so long as we latch back on to that star (our vows), all is well.

    Deep bows,
    Sekishi

I am sorry, everyone, for my failed bells at the end. I had no idea you couldn’t hear them. I rang them wholeheartedly, I promise you that.
I appreciate everyone for being there and making this ceremony happen.

hi, to whom it may concern..

in the invitation for this ceremony it still is written that it takes place in the SSR, but it is in the Meeting Room. Maybe this can be corrected next time.. i was waiting in the SSR but Kotei told me to change rooms (thanks, Kotei).

it was nice to be there, bells or not

Technical difficulties mean we stepped on each others toes a few times during the dance, but this is OK. The important thing is to actually dance (or sit down and dance as the case may be).

                  Deep bows to all,
