I know I've seen it somewhere, but I just can't find it [confused]- ages ago I saw a thread where folk were talking about putting their own sets together - there was also a great Jundo video on the same subject. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've found bowls, but I need some info about the cloths, sizes etc.
Lovely article Tairin, thank you so much for sharing this. Genjun that Oryoki set looks to be pretty good value, but don't underestimate the idea of putting your own set together ; I personally found that really rewarding as a practice in itself. Know that most of sets sold in the West are not really orthodox Oryoki sets, but are very abbreviated and modified in significant ways. So, really might as well make one's own for home Practice purposes.
Orthodox Soto Set (including large Buddha Bowl without flat bottom, resting on a stand) ...
I found this article quite interesting. I don’t participate in Oryoki but I thought those of you who do might appreciate this.
