This, to me, is truly one of the most powerful actions. Wrapped up in the Buddha's robe, they just walk.. No need for drama or scandals. Their simple presence and activity is the statement. Folks of all walks of life are united in supporting them. The fact that they engage with folks, take questions, share the dharma, is a humongous benefit to everyone present.

I am in awe and so inspired by them.

I stumbled today upon a gentleman's YouTube vlog, and he was talking about the "miracle of the marching monks". I understand this person had been posting content about gardening, and I don't know exactly if he went to see the monks or what the context was, but he spoke for 10 minutes in this video about how he rediscovered peace and joy by simply encountering the monks and their peaceful walk. It really stood out to me, because of how he described it. It wasn't a gaining of anything, it was something that he'd developed or was given, but something he felt he rediscovered in himself, something that had become so foreign it took him a bit to recognize it.
I think that's a nice description of what practicing the dharma does to us. If a person simply encounters it and feels such a positive impact, how much more impact it has on those who practice it sincerely and diligently. What a wonderful thing these monks are doing.

My brother took this picture of the Monks from the Hương Đạo Vipassana Bhavana Center (https://chuahuongdao.org/en/) as they passed through my hometown near Fredericksburg, VA today. This has been making the news. It's been very cold around these parts the last couple of weeks. Much respect and thanks for their March. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walk_for_Peace
