[Ecodharma] Our Oaken Bones - book

    Greetings

I have just finished reading a book by Merlin Hanbury-Tenison called “Our Oaken Bones”. It is a personal story of Merlin and his family’s efforts to restore and preserve a track of land in Cornwall that is part of the ancient North Atlantic temperate rain forest. Apparently temperate rain forest used to be wide spread in England, Wales and Scotland.

The book is well written and engaging similar to other books we’ve noted such as “Braiding Sweetgrass”, “Finding the Mother Tree”, and “Entangled Life”. It might be of particular interest to Kokuu and other residents of the British Isles.

Thank you for the recommendation, Tairin. I hadn't actually heard of this book and it sounds great! There has been a lot of talk in the UK of late about our temperate rainforests and it is wonderful that there are attempts to restore this rare habitat.
