Online With David Loy: 5/25-6/1 - Ecodharma Sesshin-Loving the World as Our Own Body

A bit of late notice, but not too late. A great sesshin online with Zen Teacher and Ecologist (and friend of Treeleaf), David Loy:
Join us May 25 - June 1 for
Ecodharma Sesshin- Loving the World as Our Own Body

Online and Part-time options have been
specially designed for this unique retreat.
You are invited to join Mountain Cloud for an exciting departure from our regular sesshin. Our upcoming Ecodharma Retreat - Loving the World as Our Whole Body will use many of the same ingredients as our traditional zen retreats — shared practice, teacher talks & zazen. But this time, there are two key variations: Nature as Teacher

Instead of turning inward, we will turn outwards to nature. We will entrust ourselves to the guidance of the land — sitting on the land, walking on the land, and seeing what it is to be in relationship with the natural world through our practice.
    How will we do this?
    • Group sitting and walking meditation on the land
    • Daily “solos” on the land
    • Saturday day-long solo on the land
    The Ecosattva Path

In addition to opening to the land for insight, we will also have the expert guidance of David Loy — who not only wrote the book on “ecodharma”but also spent years refining ecodharma retreats at the Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Center. Together, we will ask important questions about how our meditation practice engages with the world. We will explore how practices like gratitude and allowing help us stay resilient and support one another in finding a path forward. How will we do this?
    • Daily talks from David Loy
    • Daily discussion groups with David and Scott to share and process the learning that is emerging from the land
    • Dinners allow for peer conversation
    • Fully vegan meals
We hope you join us to explore our oneness with non-human kin and the land itself, contend with the realities of our time, and resource ourselves to engage skillfully in support of all beings.
Read on to learn about the schedule, ways to participate, and new lodging options!
A Word from our May Ecodharma Residents
"The [ecodharma residency] has been an amazing opportunity to organize my internal resources, with advice and encouragement from community, to confront the deeply troubling issues of our age. I'm very grateful to the participants and organizers for their care."

    - Michael Norton-Lindsay
"Being on this land, in community, and exploring how our personal healing journeys can ripple out into the world has deepened my sense of connection with all beings—and my sense of agency."

    - Monisha Rao
"How supportive it is to be in dialogue with others as we delve into the deep questions of modern life that ecodharma raises and illuminates, while allowing our practice with the land to hold us. I've been challenged in my privileged position as a human being alive today to look within, to come together with others and to respond to help preserve and protect the natural world that cannot speak for or defend itself.
I cannot imagine a more meaningful way to invest my life energy in these challenging times.”
