[EcoDharma] our relationship with the biosphere

gassho sangha, this article, https://lareviewofbooks.org/article/...ralize-nature/ crossed my path and i thought it worthwhile to post, especially with Gary Snyder's recent birthday. i then asked perplexity, https://www.perplexity.ai/search/ple...RJigIRGr9yKiyw - the word, interdependence is in the reply. perhaps perplexity practices zen?

Oh. "Resacralizing Nature." Yes, we must do this. I am writing a book right now where I try to do this a little, explaining that our human bodies are, quite literally, mirror reflections of nature ... nature come to life ... e.g., eyes attuned to the light, lungs and body chemistry to the air and nutrients, feet to the ground and gravity, etc. etc. Nature is us, we are nature walking and breathing, we are children of nature ... but we tend to be ungrateful children these days.

By the way, not sure what is "perplexity," but I cannot access or see it without registering.

PS - Would you mind to add a human face photo to your posts? It helps keep things warmer and more human around here. Thank you. Write me, Risa, if any question on that.

thanks for responding, Jundo. perplexity, as i understand is an AI search engine. i didn't need to register to use it but am sort of trying not to use AI as i'm told it's a huge energy suck, much more than regular internet searches or zoom. the following link is the home page for perplexity: https://www.perplexity.ai/?login-source=oneTapHome. i'll try to figure out how to add a photo -

Thank you. Don't feel "perplexity" about our very few rules around here. This will tell you about adding a photo ...

On the forum, we have two photo options that make us visible, and as Jundo says it, gives us a human face: profile picture and avatar. in order to change these, from the web version of the forum, we click on Settings in the top right corner, next to My Profile and Log out. From the left side column of menus, we click on

And we also ask folks to indicate SatToday and Lent A Hand (Sat/Lah), indicating that they have sat and done some good for the world during the prior day before coming to post. Thank you. It keeps us focused on sitting, good works and practice, not just chatting. Thank you for that too.

Dear All, To keep our Sangha focused on Practice and serving other sentient beings, we are making "LAH" the LAW around here, just as we ask "SatToday" of our Forum members. The following is asked of ALL Treeleaf members (except very new members during their first weeks, and others prevented by health and

Thank you, Risa! Robert McFarlane is a much admired writer on nature and the environment, especially in the UK. He has previously written on mountains (Mountains of the Mind), subterranean landscapes (Underland) and other wild places. I like his work very much and I am looking forward to reading this one too.
