[Ecodharma] Treeleaf Ecosattva Training Meetings 2024

Dear all

After discussion, we have agreed upon the time for the live meetings to be the second Monday of each month at 12.00-13.30 ET (10.00-11.30 MT, 11.00-12.30 CT, 17.00-18.30 UK, 19.00-20.30 Ukraine).

This means that the first four meetings will be:

January 8 (Session One: Arriving and Setting a Course)
February 12 (Session Two: Preparing for the Journey)
March 11 (Session Three: Meeting Just This Heart)
April 8 (Session Four: Reckoning with Entangled Structures)

The format of the meeting is yet to be finalised but will probably consist of a brief introduction and short practice followed by discussion of that month's material, and end with a dedication. You are expected to watch the materials for each session prior to the meeting.

I just wanted to apologize to everyone. I had planned to join you in the discussions and training and had committed to doing so. But around the holidays my mental health took a turn for the worse and I wasn't able to follow up on it. I don't think I could have taken this on. I've just been kind of getting by since then. At the moment we are somewhat undecided over the value of the training so will see how it pans out.

My only concern about missing a month is that the final gathering will occur in September when we are mostly focussing on Ango.

Hi Kokuu,

Are there going to be recorded or is it more of a discussion group affair?

2100 is a bit late for me on a Monday night, home life being hectic I have to fit my practice where I can, but I am interested in the topic and would like to get more familiar with the Eco-dharma group.

Trying to find ways to be more involved; in a schedule based around the requirements of a young family, work, and sewing, it's not easy to fit it all in.

Hi Myojin,

The Monday meetings are not recorded. They are for discussion of the Lesson Modules from the Ecosattva course that several of us enrolled in. We had one meeting in January and none in February. We also attend a discussion session once a month put on by the course instructors. Our goal is to eventually post the high lights of the course in the Forum.From my perspective the modules I reviewed are focusing on building self resilience in the face of major environmental change. Hopefully Kokuu can add to my thoughts.

I also just started another course of Practice to Action which looks at how to be active in helping environmental issues. I also plan to post a few summaries over the next month or so.

Hi Myojin

Thank you for your interest. As Doshin says, the Monday meetings are specifically for discussion of a training course some of us are doing. We had hoped to take most of the members of this forum on that journey but it didn't work out that way with no blame to anyone. But, as a result we have not been tending to this corner of the website as much as we might otherwise have done.

If there is something you would like to discuss here, please bring it up. Otherwise, Doshin and I are going to discuss other things we can do to breathe some life back into the place.
