    [Ecodharma] The Climate Book (p)review

    Dear all

I am probably totally behind on this as I received a copy of Greta Thunberg's The Climate Book at the weekend and began to flick through it between Rohatsu sits.

I didn't get it when it came out as there was so much media noise around it and I was put off. After repeated recent conversations with others around climate change, I recognised it is a book I need to read, being a compilation of essays from scientists, social scientists and other experts in the field explaining the hows, whats, whens and whys of climate change.

For a science nerd like me, I am eating it up and taking joy at so many people taking this crisis seriously, especially in the light of the COP28 summit in Dubai.

Although i am only a short way into this book I would say to all those interested in climate change in any way to buy this book and read it. Look at the figures, the pictures and incorporate it into your life and activism.

This is the good stuff. It is not Buddhist in name but its exploration of the interconnectedness of all things certainly is.

Thank you, Kokuu. I didn’t hear about this book when it came out. On the list it goes.
This morning I ordered a newish book, A Fire Runs Through All Things, Zen Koans for Facing the Climate Crisis, by Susan Murphy (Shambhala). The title hooked me (hooked-that didn’t take long after the retreat).

I acquired a book that just came out by a well known climatologist in the States, Michael E Mann, titled Our Fragile Moment: How Lessons from Earth’s Past Can Help Us Survive the Climate Crisis.

What I want to do is read this and do a short book report here in the Forum. As a suggestion if any of you want to do similarly I think we would all benefit. Much going on an my suggestion may be a bit-much so just scroll on

Doshin, that book sounds great as well! I don’t mind doing a little book report, but it may be awhile. I have two books I must finish first.
