It seems almost unbelievable, but something we may sadly see become "normal." In NZ we have already seen a rapid rise from the occasional tail end of a cyclone, to a relentless battering by consecutive cyclones making direct landfall. Metta to all who suffer today because of this tragic event. Whether climate change related or not, this is just sad to see, but no doubt the people there are strong and resilient and will gradually rebuild.

It is so devastating. My happiest memories are in Lahaina. Having known the area, I can't imagine the immensity of the loss of shelter and resources.
