I am fully prepared and eager to delve into the depths of the Lotus Sutra's stories.

Dear friends! I found the foreward to the book a gentle challenge to that part of me that looks a wee critically at imagination. Most probably as a strategy to control it and keep it in check :-)

Seems to me that is going to be a welcoming, despite the challenge, adventure for a journey. During which I will endeavour to stay as still and silent as possible!

For anyone that hasn't seen this yet, we have plenty room for more book club participants! If you aren't sure about signing up, then just sign up, and then we figure it out as we go!
I am sure we'll learn a lot together and we'll have fun!

I have a thought and im wondering if its viable. The author has the collection of stories but also a complete translation of the whole Sutra by the looks of it. I would rather own the whole sutra and not just part of it. Any Idea if this would work?? I'm not attached to the outcome or feeling very particular to what book I get. Just a thought.

I thought the same and ended up ordering copies of both. I haven't received the copy of the full Sutra yet (coming today, I think), but the "Stories" book that we are reading includes not just the stores from the sutra, but additional commentary on their relevance that I assume may be missing from his copy of the full Sutra.

Bion probably has more insight to share though.

It’s different books. This is commentary on the stories. I’d suggest participating using this book and you can read the full translation on your own or simultaneously

                            Hello Onsho!!!

                            Hello!

After joining this reading group, I also decided to read the entire sutra; I'm almost halfway through before starting the study with you!

                            I'm reading a Portuguese translation...
